Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) is a self-conformity scheme which applies only to Electronics and IT products.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued the “Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirement for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2012” for certain electronic items. In accordance with the Order, no person shall manufacture, store for sale, import, sell, or distribute goods that do not meet the Indian Standard specified in the Order and do not bear the Standard Mark with a specific registration number obtained from BIS.
