The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 (LMPC Rules) governs the packing and labelling of commodities. Chapter II of the PC Rules contains provision applicable to packages intended to be sold for retail sale. Retail sale means the sale, distribution or delivery of such commodity through retail sales shops, agencies or other instrumentalities for consumption by an individual or a group of individuals or any other consumer.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Relief under Rule 33<\/b><\/p>

If you have inadvertently missed the mandatory declarations on a pre-packaged commodity as specified in the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 and have realised the mistake, you have the option to get relaxation under Rule 33 of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011.<\/p>

The Central Government may, after ascertaining the genuineness, permit a manufacturer or packer to pack for sale the packages for a reasonable period by relaxing one or more provision of the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 with such corrective measures as may be specified.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
